Welcome to the Mountain Communities SPCA website!
Our mission is to rescue abandoned, stray and neglected dogs and cats in the Frazier Mountain communities. We provide temporary foster homes, arrange permanent adoptions, obtain veterinary care including spay/neuter, and offer education on the humane treatment of animals.
We are located where Kern, Los Angeles, and Ventura Counties meet at the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley in Central California.

If you have found or lost pet in our community,
please contact us immediately.
We will post a picture and description on our
Found & Lost Animals page.

A Big Thank You to the Greater Frazier Mountain Communityfor making our first 3 years a huge success.About 2,200 dogs and cats thank you, too!Thank you for helping us help the animals. Helping your pet get spayed or neutered:
We will always try to help a pet in need, when we can. We have a meager treasury, which allows us to consider assistance for spay and neuter procedures for dogs on a case by case basis. We can also help you pay for your cat's spay or neuter, and transport her/him to a clinic, if transportaion is a problem.
We invite you to contact us if your pet needs spay/neutering. We say yes every time we can and that depends on the treasury.
Donations Now Being Collected at LOW Storage Unit #54:
We are now accepting donated household items in Lake of the Woods. We have a storage unit at Stowaway Storage, unit #54. It's next to Dirty Hairy's Self-Serve Dog Wash, on the opposite side of Fraizier Mountain Rd from Midway Market in Lake of the Woods. Please phone 245-3714 prior to dropping off your gently used donations. Be sure to place them inside the unit, out of the weather. Please conduct your self honorably when dropping off donations, and resist the temptation of taking donations left by someone else. We hope to sell your donated items at reguarly scheduled sales -- April 21 (8am - 3pm) is the next one. Thereby we can continue to help the animals in our communities. Please remember that it's for the animals, now. If you need help transporting your donations to the storage unit, or if there is something that you see in our storage unit that you are interested in, please contact us at 245-3035 and we can help you.
Thank you, again, for all your support.
